Jeju, Life & Peace, Grand Peace March 2018 7.31-8.5

Every year, the Grand Peace March offers a chance to foreign people.
It’s a great chance to see Jeju, to communicate with people and to feel an island of Jeju.
As a Japanese, Walking & Praying in Jeju is very meaningful. My grand or great grand father’s generation invaded, occupied and exploited South Korea and North Korea. I understand that my travel to Korea means to help a reconciliation between Korea & Japan by walking & Praying.
As we Human kind is facing a critical time today. Environment of mother Earth is crying. Our daily life kills a lot of lives on this earth. The problem is that we don’t realize that fact. We human don’t have a time to make an arm race. While we are spending so much energy to live this human made systematic world, the Earth, our mother and our home is going to be the place where we cannot live.
My prayer is that let’s not be divided by making enemy. All living creatures seek a happiness. When we face the enemy who disturb our aim, let’s pray for their happiness. Because their happiness is my happiness.
At the end. I humbly ask you. Please come to Henoko, Okinawa!!
We are fighting to protect a bay from new U.S. military base construction. We need a large   number of people to stop. We must defend them. More than 5300 species including 262 endangered species live in a bay.

Miyako island, Small Okinawa's Small Island

  picture of Miyako island's militarize plan 11 th February “The Symposium for thinking a peace & military bases at North East Asia” was held at Miyako island. 9 people from Korea visited this time. (Pyeongtaek & Jeju island) Pyeongtaek is where biggest U.S. Army base in the world exists. Jeju island where Korean government constructed new Navy base on 2016 at Gangjeong village despite of strong opposition movement. I’d like to tell you what I saw & I felt by coming Miyako island after one year of my last visiting. Last year of January, when I came, there were no buildings at the site of Chiyoda New Japanese Defense Force’s base. In one year, a dozen of barracks for soldiers were already built and a forest of community prayer site was cut down much smaller and ammunition depots, 700 tons fuel tanks are under construction. Okinawa Today.

Thank you ... Governor Onaga. We will not forget your dedication to Okinawa. Okinawan governor Onaga past away on 8th Aug. He had a pancreas cancer. He was given surgery this April. If he gave up his job at that point, he 'd may be survived up to now. His responsibility was so much to Okinawa. He was an one of the most powerful gorveronor in Okinawan history. He was a member of Liberal Democratic Party(LDP) which is the biggest political party in Japan. Priminister Abe is the top of LDP. However, when Mr. Onaga saw how Japanese goverment treat Okinawa, He decided to leave from LDP. And Mr. Onaga ran for Okinawa governor and He was elected. What was a special about a governor Onaga is uniting Okinawan conservatives to stop U.S. military eapansion. U.S. mlitary issue in Okinawa was always devided conservative party and liberal party.
