How on earth does one measure the gravity of a single wish, pursued by many people together? On November 18, the sit-in protest in front of the gate of Camp Schwab, Henoko, Nago, by citizens opposing construction of a new U.S. base reached its 500th consecutive day. More than 1,000 people took part in the sit-in on this day. Japanese government officials who have not been to the gates of Camp Schwab before do not know how many hours it will take to go to Henoko. Going on a weekday from the prefectural office, Naha, for example, is nearly impossible. One will only make the trip to Camp Schwab if one truly desires to do so. Not only does one need the desire, but the energy and proper circumstances in order to go. There are many people without the necessary means to make their way to Camp Schwab. Despite the difficulty of transit, people have continued the protest for 500 consecutive days. Citizens have made their intent clear at the polls, and it would be good to see the focus of th...

an Afternoon, 25th Nov. Japanese Prime Minister met US Marine Corps General. PM expressed that Henoko construction goes forward with a Firm Resolution. Why JP PM stands in front of US flag and shake hands with a general ? As the Japanese government says that we keep trying to obtain Okinawa people's understanding. Why he doesn't meet a people of Okinawa. Everyday, 15 to 20 construction vehicles go into the Base. Little by Little, the construction of US Base moving forward. We need at least 500 people at the morning to stop the vehicles. Today, we were around 100 people in the morning. We need more people to stop.

None of the construction vehicles and riot polices showed up. Today, about 700 hundreds people gathered at 7 a.m. Therefore no vehicles and no police again. at 9 a.m. people had a break time. Almost all people went to toilet and breakfast. Then from 10 a.m. people continued to sit in again. However, at this time only a hundred people came back to sit in. people were giving speeches and most of us were relaxing. Suddenly, riot polices started running out from the another gate, they run down to our gate and surround us. then made human barricades at each side of sidewalks to stop people to come and go. Riot police took about 10 minutes to remove ,people, then 8 vehicles with workers went into the construction gate with police escort. I don't know what is the duty or the work ...

a Sunday early morning , this yellow crane ship sneaked into Oura bay. This ship carries concrete blocks for anchors of pollution protect net. But this concrete blocks are massive, They plans to drop 286 blocks all together. 57 tons for 102 pieces, 44 tons for 38 pieces, 12 tons for 48 pieces. An agreement between Okinawa prefectural government & Okinawa Defense Bureau(ODB) doesn't permit to drop these massive concrete blocks. I can't believe how the government ignore or violate the rules. Last year when ODB dropped numbers of concrete blocks, they crushed corals. This time, numbers and sizes are bigger than before. it's as same as a landfill. We need more people to stop. Please come to Henoko.
